Welcome letter

Thank you for your interest in our Chief Financial Officer opportunity and we would like to extend a very warm welcome to you on behalf of ourselves and all at the Independence Matters Group.

As an employee-led social enterprise, we are immensely proud of all that we have achieved over our last ten years, but we are always striving to do better and move forward, especially adapting to the increasingly changing world that we all live and work within.

Due to the forthcoming retirement of our Financial Director we have taken the opportunity to look to the future and reimagine the role. We believe the time is now right for the IM Group to invest in a Chief Financial Officer who will bring their advanced negotiation skills and commercial acumen to the table to ensure IM Group is best placed to operate in the blended commercial and local authority space we occupy. This is a truly unique chance to get involved in our company at an exciting time of transformation. As part of our overall modernization strategy we have recently added a new post of Digital Director to the Senior Leadership Team. We would envisage the CFO working closely with this role and other SLT members to proactively drive and support the digital agenda.

Independence Matters and Home Support Matters are ‘profit with a purpose’ community interest companies (CIC) and as such we exist and trade for a social purpose. For us that is supporting our beneficiaries to live the ‘life they choose’, and we are ‘here because we care’. Being, ‘profit with a purpose’, means any surpluses made are retained by the business and reinvested back into the beneficiaries we serve through the support that we provide.

As a Board we have the interests of our beneficiaries and employees at the centre of all that we do. As a business, we pride ourselves on delivering support based on understanding, dignity, and respect. We believe our employees are the company’s most valuable asset, with the real value of our services being based in the relationships they develop with the individuals they support and their careers.

We are a values-driven organisation, and our values define the way we run our business and Board. Colleagues and beneficiaries are involved, and our Board includes Colleague and Stakeholder Directors. Through this governance structure, employees, individuals we support, and carers are connected to the needs of our business.

We would love to hear all about the value that you feel you could bring to the team and in return we offer a great supportive environment to ensure that not only do you feel that you are making a difference and impact, but that it is enjoyable and fun as well!

Kind Regards,
